Configure an Email Account in the Latest Microsoft Outlook (Windows)
Note: We always recommend using IMAP, as it synchronizes your emails, folders, and read/unread status across all your devices.
Step 1
Open the latest Microsoft Outlook application.
If this is your first time opening Outlook, the Add Account window will appear automatically.
If Outlook is already configured with another account, click Settings (⚙️) > Accounts > Email accounts > Add Account.
Step 2
Enter your email address and click Continue.
If Outlook attempts to configure the account automatically, select Advanced setup or Set up manually (if available).
Step 3
Choose IMAP (Recommended) or POP as the account type.
Step 4
Enter the following mail server settings:
Incoming Mail (IMAP - Recommended)
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Incoming Mail (POP)
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 995
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 465
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
- SMTP Authentication: Enabled (Use the same username and password as the incoming mail server)
Note: Replace mail.yourdomain.com with the mail server hostname for your hosting account.
Step 5
Enter the following account credentials:
- Username: Your full email address (e.g., [email protected])
- Password: Your email account password
Click Continue or Sign in.
Step 6
Outlook will verify the account settings and complete the configuration.
Once the setup is successful, click Done.
Your mailbox is now ready to send and receive emails.
